Coordination & Secretariat
The day-to-day management and support is provided by the Butterfly Effect Secretariat implemented by the International Secretariat for Water (Canada - Montreal), Action Against Hunger and Coalition Eau (France - Paris). It plays a coordination, facilitation and communication role.
Permanent information and consultation is one of the main tasks of the Secretariat. To reach a stronger joint impact, the Secretariat develops with members and the Steering Committee, the vision and network strategies along operational and measurable instruments. The Secretariat consists of two human resources (part time) with the support of the advocacy and technical staff of the project holders (ISW, ACF and Coalition Eau).
Working Groups are responsible for building the network messages and for operationalizing the network strategy . The Working Groups are formed according to the strategic thematic of the Butterfly Effect.
The creation of a working group has to be validated by the Steering Committee, according to the Butterfly Effect strategic plan and budget, and needs a host member and at least 2 other members. The Secretariat facilitates and coordinates the work of the different Working Groups.
Currently the Butterfly Effect is made of the three following Working Groups :
- The Water and Climate Agenda
- The Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development
- The World Water Forum
