WOFAN is nongovernmental organization working in 5 Northern states of Nigeria and established since 1993 www.wofan-ng.org . WOFAN is also a member of the Women for Water Partnership, wfwp with the ED, Salamatu Garba as a member of the wfwp steering committee and has lead the 6 years water project of the USAID in Nigeria. WOFAN was formed as a response to the plight of the rural women in Northern Nigeria, as people who are voiceless, poor and absolutely dependent on poor resources such as water and appropriate sanitation and are dependent on agriculture through the use of local/ indigenous technology.
