A group of women from Khulna, Bangladesh formed Banophul in 1979. Banophul is an exclusively women organization with 35 members in the general body and an 11 members executive committee. The members of the NGO are recognized and renowned as social activist in Khulna region.
From the very inception, Banophul tried to cover the needs of distressed humanity, particularly the poor and, powerless women. In reality, Banophul is a small local volunteer initiative accomplishing backward support services and developing forward linkage for its target population. Banaphul is preparing a vigilant and responsive climate community against the emerging climate change issues in the south western coastal region of Bangladesh.
To provide climate resilience knowledge on sanitation, environmental pollution, health education, water rights and climate change adaptation.
